I live in beautiful northern Indiana where I breed and train standard smooth coat dachshunds to track wounded deer. My dogs are of the very highest quality you can obtain anywhere. At Brown's Dachshund Hunt(BDH) we have a state of the art breeding and training facility that was completed June 15, 2020. This all started 8 years ago while bowhunting one morning, I shot a doe and it was a single lung shot. After tracking a short while, I realized it was going to be a difficult recovery. I had a good friend that had a tracking bloodhound and he agreed to come help. The dog's name was Mia and the owners name was Buck. They both helped me recover the deer and it was quite an amazing experience! That day a strong desire started in me to have my own tracking dog and 8 years ago I purchased an 8 week old standard smooth coat puppy. Thus the journey began. In 2017, I purchased a piece of property and began construction of our home, kennel and training facility. BDH now owns 4 dogs (2 breeding pair) of standard smooth coat Dachshunds of European bloodlines for hunting and tracking. Holli just finished up with her 4th litter in September 2021. I am planning in 2022, to become more active with feild trials and tracking for hunters in my area when things wind down with Covid.
