When in doubt back out, don't contaminate the trail further with your scent. I am fairly new to tracking as it just became legal in my home state of ND. Stein a 4 year old Wachtelhund completed a successful overnight archery track in Nebraska (2018) after a rain and passed the blood trailing portion of the GP test with the DWNA (2018). In 2019 we took about 1/2 dozen tracks in North Dakota, of those 1 deer was recovered, 2 bumped, 1 long track and 2 no track was found. Of the later 3 tracks 1 was on camera a few weeks later and the other killed by another hunter 3 weeks after our track. I will help out when I can, but I do have a full time job and children.
