New member to UBT and a new tracking dog owner. I have been hunting my whole life and am very passionate about deer hunting. I got a bloodhound mix in March of 2020 and have been training her from about 8 weeks old following a lot of advice and recommendations from John Jeanneney's book as well as other places of information. The dog has done great on tracks with several being 800+ yards and 12+ hours old. As the season approaches in NC I am hoping to put her on as many tracks as possible in her first season. Neither I nor the dog are experienced trackers yet. This fall I am looking to put her on more ideal trails to build confidence, especially in the earlier season.
