I have been tracking since 1982 and the 8 years with the United Blood Trackers and with my German Dachshund named Semper Fi. He has tracked over 300 times. Semper has aced a number of field trials. –THINGS TO KNOW– After the shot, wait two hours. Wait 12 hours if it is a trophy. Do not do a random search, if so your friends and you will get blood on their feet. Semper can work it out after a hour or so but most can't. When tracking, mark where blood is and if you leave and come back put up something that will smell and can be seen. Don't get angry (I TRACK FOR YOU NOT ME)
